Feldenkrais® Method of Movement

Testimonials

 My Feldenkrais Practice

I believe that we have 4 interconnected aspects to ourselves. Our Mental, Emotional, Spiritual and Physical.  These aspects are the fabric of who we are.  As a practitioner I work with each person to bring balance into their being.  For me health is about wholeness – that is what I want for myself and for my students.

Feldenkrais® for Home, Work or Play

Feldenkrais offers to improve the range, quality and comfort with which you move – often it is not what we do but how we do it that causes such things as RSI (repetitive stress injury).

“Movement is life. Life is a process. Improve the quality
of the process and you improve the quality of life itself.”
Moshe Feldenkrais

Based on the work of Israeli physicist, engineer and martial arts master Moshe Feldenkrais (1904/1984), the Feldenkrais Method® is grounded in anatomy, physiology and physics.  He believed that if we understood how we moved we could repair or prevent most of our injuries, pains, stresses and that even the effects of ageing & illnesses can be diminished.

I tailor each course to the needs of the participants. You will learn how your daily habits of moving, sensing, thinking and feeling are often self-limiting or damaging. This may be apparent if you…

  • repeatedly injure yourself in the same areas
  • always get a stiff neck/shoulder on the same side
  • have difficulty getting into or out of your chair, car, etc.

By understanding how we move, both on a physical and mental level, our posture, flexibility & mobility will improve.

Each lesson is 30 minutes long and can be offered any time of the day (no special equipment or clothing is required). Once the new habits are understood in our bodies they will stay with us for our lifetime.
